So, assuming the LED itself is good, the only things that can be preventing it from working is a bad power switch or a bad power supply. I opened my old C64 with the intention of cleaning the PCB under the keyboard and giving the plungers a check, when I realized that when I unplugged my power indicator LED cable, I forgot to note the orientation of it and it fits onto the prongs perfectly in both directions.
